HAMILTON PACER ELECTRIC 500 Black 10K W GOLD FILLED VINTAGE WATCH

The beginnings of the wristwatch revolution can be traced to the first battery-powered watch. Hamilton Watch Company, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, announced the Hamilton Electric 500 in January 1957. Although it had a balance and hairspring, the new movement replaced the mainspring with a tiny battery. Key players in developing the technology of the electric watch were Hamilton's director of research John Van Horn, the firm's chief physicist Philip Biemiller, and master Technician James Reese.1957 Electric Pacer Watch. Also know as the Elvis Watch and the Men In Black Watch.

This watch came from our families estate. It recently was professionally looked at and cleaned. It is in excellent working order. The band is not original to the piece and reads “Speidel”. Their is one minor scratch on the front and also the back plate from regular wear. Not much else is known about this rare piece so please be sure to ask any questions before bidding.
