Saint Robert Bellarmine (1542 – 1621) was an
Italian Jesuit and a Cardinal of the Catholic Church. He was one of the most
important figures in the Counter-Reformation. He was canonized in 1930 and
named a Doctor of the Church. Bellarmine is also widely remembered for his role
in the Galileo affair.
We do not find any other 1622 printings of
this same work for sale anywhere else worldwide; however, we do find other
examples of early 17th-century printings for sale for over $1,750!
