~ Polished WW2 10x80 Flak Field German Joseph Schneider & Co. Binoculars ~

A very striking and fully functional pair of German WW2 flak binoculars mounted on a later adjustable metal field tripod. 

These binoculars were used by German anti-aircraft batteries for spotting aircraft, they have a very wide field of view and the lenses are inclined at 45 degrees for easy viewing. 

Both the binoculars and the tripod are of metal, professionally polished to a high standard.

The right side of the binoculars, below the handle, is stamped ‘D.F.10 x80 dkl 69468’ along with this are a cross and a triangle.

The 'dkl' mark is the German WW2 code for the manufacturer ‘Joseph Schneider & Co, Kreuznach, Germany’.

The tripod has adjustable feet for height and stability on uneven ground.

~ Dimensions ~

The main body of the binoculars is 17 inches (43.2 cm) long by 8 ½ inches (21.5cm) deep, 18 ½ inches (47cm) including handle. The diameter of the objective lenses is 3 ½ inches (9cm).  They weigh 7.63 Kg.

The height of the tripod and binoculars as they appear in the photographs are 44 inches (112cm).
 
The set weighs 11.2 Kg.

~ Condition ~

All the lenses and mirrors are in good order with excellent optics. The binoculars have minimal surface wear and retain an excellent polished finish. The tripod is also in a very good order.

All moving parts to the binoculars and tripod are in good smooth working order.
