NOTE: 1mm thick glass version, rare and hard to find.
Schott UG1 52mm camera filter, special 1mm thick glass, for Ultraviolet and Dual Band IR Photography.
This Schott UG1 glass is specially made to be 1mm thick. Stock UG1 is usually 2+mm thick. I also have 2mm thick UG1 available (check my other
listings, or ask me to list one if you are interested).
Message me to inquire about listing any type of Schott or Hoya filter
glass, in any size, any shape, or any thickness (price, availability,
time, details).
This filter is quality made from genuine Schott UG1 optically polished
filter glass. Precision crafted size, thickness, and edges. Freshly made from new glass.
Custom mounted in a quality standard sized 52mm camera filter frame (with front and rear threads). Cut and mounted in USA.
(Schott filter glass is premium quality filter glass)
Glass: Schott UG1
Filter thread size: 52mm
Glass thickens: 1mm (very special custom thickness!)
Visual color: Opaque
Type: Ultraviolet bandpass filter, and dual band UV/IR filter (see graph #1 above representing this 1mm thick version)
Used for: UV photography, and dual band UV/IR photography
WARNING: DO NOT use this filter for visual observation. Sunlight
and other light sources contain ultraviolet radiation which will
damage your eyes!
This filter passes UV in the 300nm to 400nm range, it blocks visual light, and it passes some IR in the 700nm to 800nm range.
Ultraviolet photography use:
This listing is for UG1, it is very similar to Hoya U-360 (at the same thickness), please review graphs above showing 2mm version of both types of glass to decide which is
best for you (see my other listings for U-360 if you prefer that glass
type instead).
U-360 transmits UV stronger and suppresses IR better than UG-1 (at the same thickness), both work well for UV-only photography when
stacked with the appropriate IR suppression filter (such as S8612,
BG40, BG39, or BG38, check my listings for those if needed).
If you have any question about this then feel free to message me.
Dual Band use: This filter can be used alone on a full spectrum
converted camera for dual band infrared photography that needs no
channel swapping for blue skies.
With this filter you can capture blue/lavender/purple skies and
white/off-white foliage (depending on white balance used) with no need
for swapping red and blue channels.
This filter may also be useful on regular non-converted off-the-shelf
stock cameras by using longer exposures, but results will be much more
satisfying when using a full spectrum converted camera.
Filter labeling options:
I am currently using Gold text on Black background by default (the photo
above may not represent the color of the labeled filters I have ready
to ship).
I also have: Black text on White background, White text on Black background, and Black text on Yellow background.
Other label colors are available on request.
I am happy to make this and other hard to find specialty filters,
sizes, thicknesses, and shapes available to you on request.
Feel free to message me if you have any questions or requests.
Please let me know if you find any errors in my listings.
Thank you!
