Westone Thunder IA guitar
This lovely guitar was made in the Matsumoku factory in Japan in 1983 and is a Westone
Thunder IA model - version three. It is finished in black with a bolt on maple neck which is
unmarked; and with a superb rosewood fingerboard containing twenty-two frets and has a twenty-four
and a half inch scale.
There are two "Hammer" pickups with black surrounds, and with master volume, passive tone and
active equaliser tone controls, plus micro switches which are a coil tap, phase in and out and active on/off.
The active side of the electronics is operated by two nine volt batteries housed in a compartment
in the back of the body. The is also a three-way pickup selector switch.
The nut, knobs and bridge/tailpiece are all in brass which is not tarnished.
The headstock contains the "Westone" logo, three on a side Westone tuners and truss rod cover
stamped with "Thunder IA".
This is a fabulous guitar to play and in an amazingly good condition for a thirty-three year old guitar.
