Als Schüler von M. Dubret betreibt Jean Noverdy in den 20er Jahren eine kleine Glashütte in Dijon, 17, Place Bossuet. Hier werden Stangenvasen mit Pulvereinschmelzungen im Stil der Firmen Daum, Muller Freres und André Delatte produziert. Auch einige Überfanggläser im Stil der Schule von Nancy werden hergestellt. Ebenso Gläser für Art Déco Lampen. In den Jahren 1926 -1928 ist Jean Noverdy auf den Salons de la Société des Artistes Francais in Paris vertreten.

In the nineteen twenties, Jean Noverdy operated a small glass factory in Place Bossuet 17 in Dijon as a pupil of M. Dubret. Long-neck vases with powder interspersions in the style of Daum, Muller Freres and André Delatte as well as some overlay glass pieces in the style of the Ecole the Nancy were manufactured there, as well as glass parts for Art-Deco lamps. From 1926 to 1928, Jean Noverdy is represented in the Salons de la Société des Artistes Français in Paris.

The lamps we present you here are an evidence of the excellent glass arts of that time, an antiquity of unchanged worth and a real gem for every home, which can also be excellently combined with modern furnishing. Lamps of this workmanship quality are extremely rare to be found nowadays and the prices lay usually far higher

Die Montur ist gereinigt, neu geschwärzt und somit in einem sehr guten Zustand. Auch die Gläser sind in sehr gutem Zustand ohne Schäden, bei 1 Applique ist eine kleine produktionsbedingte Hohlstelle am oberen Rand vorhanden. Diese muss man allerdings bei ganz naher Betrachtung suchen, nicht störend oder auffällig und hier nur der Vollständigkeit halber erwähnt.

The frame is cleaned, newly blackened and thus in a very good condition. The glasses are also in a very good condition and undamaged. One of the appliques has a tiny, production-related cavity at the upper border. However, it is only visible at closest examination, it’s not disturbing or noticeable and we mention it only for the sake of completeness.

Die max. Breite gemessen an den Außenkanten der Glastulpen beträgt ca. 40,0 cm.

Die 3 Appliquen haben eine max. Breite von ca. 16,5 cm bei einer Höhe von ca. 29,5 cm, sehr dickwandig und daher auch recht schwer.

Measures:

Hanging depth = approx. 89.0 cm.

Max. width (measured at the outer edges of the tulips) = approx. 40.0 cm.

Max. width of the 3 appliques = 16.5 cm

Height of the 3 appliques = 29.5

The appliqués are very thick walled and heavy.
