Miniature Bronze Liberty Bell Replica on Wood Base

Few artifacts in American history ring out like the Liberty Bell. Thomas Lester, founder of the White chapel Bell Foundry in London was commissioned to cast a bell for the Philadelphia State House in 1751. Not long after its arrival late summer of 1752, a stroke of the bell's clapper actually cracked the bell. As a remedy, local Foundry men recast the bell using the original metal. The names of the foundry men, Pass and Stow, are still found on the Liberty Bell.It wasn't until 1846, while being rung for George Washington's birthday, that the Liberty Bell cracked beyond repair, leaving the signature crack that we all now associate with this piece of American history.
