I bought this laptop a few weeks ago from a solid ebayer with lots of high reviews. The seller's description was "100% TESTED WORKING WITH MINOR WEAR AND TEAR DUE TO PREVIOUS USE, NOTHING MAJOR!"
INCLUDES: LAPTOP AND AC ADAPTER ONLY
This was a very accurate description. There are scuffs and wear spots on the top cover but no chips. The bottom cover has some scuffs and wear spots but no chips. The keyboard and surrounding touchpad area is very clean.
I researched this laptop due to its carbon fiber cover and lightweightness. This is an amazon buyer's comment "I like it for its size and specs. It has to be one of the lightest and thinnest 13-inch laptops out there, and it's got some punch with the 8GB of RAM and 256 GB of memory. The fact that you can run either Windows 7 or Windows 8 is also nice.
It does have issues though. The touch pad is simply not good. I connect a mouse to it whenever I can because I don't want to deal with the inconsistency and unreliability of the pad. I mean, it works, but invariably it either doesn't respond the way I would like, or is too sensitive to the touch. This wasn't a problem on my last VAIO, a Z-series, so I don't know why things have gotten worse with this one.
Also the speakers are only so-so, but that was expected. VAIOs have never been known for their speakers. Macs will certainly do much better in this area.
Aside from that, it really is a nice laptop though. Very stylish, fast, light as a feather, and the battery is long-lasting. I actually had one stolen, and ended up buying another one (albeit refurbished because I couldn't afford a new one). So that should tell you that I do like it a lot.
I AGREE WITH THIS COMMENTARY. ITS FAST, RESPONSIVE, AND THE TOUCHPAD IS VERY SOSO. CAN'T BEAT THE LOOKS OF THE CARBON FIBER APPEARANCE AND LOOKS VERY NICE AND STYLISH.
MY ORIGINAL INTENT WAS TO USE THIS FOR TRAVEL. BUT HAHA, I DON'T TRAVEL MUCH SO I BOUGHT THIS ON IMPULSE. JUST NOT GOING TO USE IT MUCH SINCE I'VE GOT MANY OTHER LAPTOPS/COMPUTERS AT HOME.
I DON'T KNOW THE ACTUAL RETAIL OF THIS LAPTOP BUT I BELIEVE IT WAS SOMEWHERE BETWEEN $1500-2000.
