What is a UPC barcode label? UPC stands for 'universal product code.'  It consists of a  series of bars and some numbers for the manufacturers/retailers to quickly identify the item.  Imagine the cashier scanning the  barcode on your carton of milk at the supermarket to bring up the price.  The UPC is the same on every box for a particular item.   Removal of this barcode from the box does not affect the item inside nor any manufacturer-provided warranty/support.  If this is  antivirus software, you are really paying for the activation/serial number inside the box to activate your subscription as the  software on the CD can be downloaded from the manufacturer's website free of charge.  Click here to see examples of UPC barcodes at Google Images.
