Outstanding quality Klein Quantum Race from 2002 in blue; an 18-speed bike that is extremely efficient, blazing fast, with crisp handling–– perfect for heavier builds, big-gear hill climbers, and sprinters, who require an especially stiff frame. 54cm frame, which is a good “sweet spot” for this model (it was available in 49-61cm). Almost completely kept garaged, and only taken out on a handful of occasions. Original MSRP was $2500.
See the many hi-rez images to view the very same bike you will receive. The bike is original down to the San Marco set; no modifications or custom changes, nor has it ever been repaired, damaged, or required any maintenance. Depending on your preferences, you may wish to have it inspected. Our bike expert has already given it a cursory inspection, and it is ready for a ride this afternoon. We do recommend cleaning and re-lubricating the chain as a general rule. There is some dust and minor buildup of dried grease in the tricky spots, which is harmless to the paint and removable with some care, if desired.
The bike is outstanding, with some light scratches visible to the frame. The most notable scratches are visible in the photos, and are almost all limited to the top frame. A few stand out but overall they are fairly light and difficult to notice. You can see what appears to be scratches on the chain stay bar, however this is actually minor peeling from the protective plastic film that covers this section of the frame. This bike is easily a 9/10 grade; it would be tough to track down a nicer example of well-regarded and long-retired model/brand. Serial number is perfectly visible. No owner markings. Has the original 700c Bontrager Race Lite wheels.
This bike weighs approx. 18lbs, as a TIG welded aluminum frame with AirRail carbon fiber composit fork. There are Shimano Ultegra brakes (dual pivot) and the STI dual control levers, plus Ultegra 39/53 teeth. Clipless pedals are installed.
