~ Circa 1917 Wilkinson Ltd Royal Staffordshire Admiral Jellicoe Jug ~
A Wilkinson Ltd Royal Staffordshire Pottery WWI character jug, produced circa 1917.
The jug, designed by Sir Francis Carruthers Gould, depicts a cartoon style Admiral Jellicoe holding a jug inscribed "Hell Fire Jack”.
The base is stamped with the Wilkinson stamp with a large “Carruthers Gould” signature.
~ Dimensions ~
The jug has a height of 10 inches (25.4 cm), the base has a width of 4 inches (10.2 cm) & a depth of 4.5 inches (11.4 cm).
~ Condition ~
A fair proportion of the jug shows that it has been repaired/restored. A fair amount of repair work to the left ear, & strap repairs to the handles which have now been riveted and drilled.
