Early Century Carl Trygg Old Man and Woman Wood Sculptures

• Vintage or antique figures, exact date unknown.
  
• Pair of classic flat-plane hand sculpted figures.
• Classic two nails on base.
• Signed on base "Hand carved by Trygg."
• Based on the look of the signature and age of the figures, we believe that these are done by Carl - not one of his sons who were also prolific and talented carvers. If you have conflicting information please let us know.
• Carl Trygg considered one of the masters of 20th century woodcarving. Born in 1887 in Skagerhult, Småland, Sweden was one of the recognized masters of twentieth century flat-plane style woodcarving.
• Carl immigrated from Sweden to Canada in 1928, where he and his three sons produced many carvings.
  

Condition:

• Good vintage condition. 
  
• Has age appropriate wear light scratches. 
  
• Noses may have wear or chip or perhaps these were made with flatter noses- please examine pictures.
  
• Man's hat has mild chip.
  

Measures approximately:

• 5 1/2" tall x 2 1/2" wide x 1 3/4" deep including base.

If you are not satisfied with your purchase we accept returns within 14 days if the item(s) are in the original condition- the buyer pays return shipping unless you are unhappy with the purchase and we will arrange otherwise if you message me.  Please inspect your item immediately upon arrival, if any damage has occurred in shipping take photographs of the packing and item.
