Description
This popular 1960s woodland design with its pretty purple violets (Viola odorata) and fresh green leaves is sure to look good on your tea table. There is a square-shaped plate and all pieces have a slightly wavy edge trimmed with bright gilding that also appears on the handles and around the foot of the cups - all designed to gleam in the light. The gilded trim and subtle colours will mix well with pinks and blues and make this a must-have addition to your collection.
Condition
Very good vintage condition, no chips or cracks, gilding bright, with just a few minor signs of previous use.
Approximate Measurement
Cup 3 1/2" diameter (4 1/4" across the top including handle), 2 3/4" high.
Saucer 5 1/2" diameter
Plate 6 1/2" diameter corner-to-corner
Makers Marks
Backstamped with a CROWN above BONE CHINA and the batch number in black, then ROYAL VALE In red. Below this is MADE IN ENGLAND curved, then A PRODUCT OF RIDGWAY POTTERIES LTD. On the cup is the number 8141.
