Up for auction is a vintage RIH Vienna frame from 1971.

The frame itself is a vintage steel frame and has been produced and sold by the Austrian bicycle manufacturer and dealer RIH. RIH is located in Vienna and has a tradition of more than 80 years. RIH bikes were always expensive and high quality. The frame tubes are Reynolds 531, the dropouts are Campagnolo. These frames where custom made. This frame belonged to a Professional and for this reason shows signs of use.

The frame has been used and shows signs of use. It is original with original paint and decals. According to the serial number it is from 1971, please see also the details (e.g. long dropouts, etc) that confirm that. The frame is nice in its original condition, but as you can see from the pics, it shows that it has been used. There are regular scratches, chips, marks and general patina. There is also some superficial oxidation at the places where the brake cable mounts where mounted. I cannot mention all imperfections in detail, so please examine the pics and be aware that there are signs of use on this frame. It is still a nice and original frame that I would recommend to keep it as it is with its patina. The frame is fully functionable, I got it as a running bike with a complete Nuovo Record groupset fitted.

The pics should be regarded as first reference as an item description is also influenced by a personal opinion. The frame is very clean, but there are still traces of dirt in the corners of the lugs.

Measurements: the frame is about 55.5cm tall (center - center), 56.5cm to the top end of the seat tube and 55 cm long (center - center). Columbus dropouts.
