This listing is for a matched set (8pcs)  HG's newest 2SC2879 transistor.

This is the newest version of 2SC2879 offered by HG. This version is by far the best replacement for the discontinued Toshiba part.

In my personal experience this transistor is a very good drop in for existing circuitry of the Toshiba part.

I've placed this transistor in a couple of "fight line" amplifiers with very promising results at 17-20vdc. 

Failure didn't happen until 24vdc. 

I'm not recommending the transistor be operated outside of the datasheet parameters just letting you know about my results.
