This auction is for the "king" of general purpose / light industrial cordless bluetooth barcode scanners from world leaders, Symbol / Motorola. The model is the LS4278, including charging/communication cradle and plug and play USB cable to connect the cradle to the host computer. The scanner and base are in BOXED condition, old stock never issued to an end user and fitted with NEW genuine Symbol rechargeable battery, so expect trouble free use for years to come..
Motorola describe the LS4278 as their "next generation" scanner and it is packed with advanced features, has a typical 10 - 15 metre communication range and a long interval between charges. The scanner can also be set into "out of range batch mode" which allows continued collection of barcodes when out of the 15 metre range, for transmission to the pc when back in range.

The scanner WORKS OUT OF THE BOX (No configuration of bluetooth dongles needed). Attach the USB cable from base to computer, and the characters from the barcode appear on screen at the current cursor position as if they had been typed in, so any application that will accept typed characters will work with this scanner !
