The story of this sculpture:

Larry A. New York -- Dominique Larrivaz, known as Larry, lives and works in France. His first name is very close to a part of his work and his animal compositions. Indeed, he tells us that his first name Dominique comes from the Latin Domini Canes and means the Dogs of the Lord. When his mother was expecting him, she dreamed that she was carrying a dog holding in its mouth a burning torch.

By the greatest of coincindences, this vision is in fact a painting representing Saint Dominic bearing a torch and accompanied by a dog. This torch symbolises Sinus, the Dog Star, whose brightness pushes back the darkness.
