The Audio Technica ATM31r was an update of the AT813 aimed at the professional market. Unlike the AT813, which only runs on batteries, the ATM31r only runs on phantom power. Preservation audio did a nice write up on the AT813 comparing them to a Neumann u87. Unfair comparison? For what it's worth in blind testing my girlfriend chose the AT813 every time.
