2.5-inches-SATA-hard drive (HDD) or solid state drive (SSD) to an available USB-Port. This device operates under
an incredibly fast USB 3.0 super speed connection and ensures a particularly high transmission rate of
up to 5 Gbit/s.
This new transfer protocol UASP (particularly optimised for SSD-hard drives) exceeds all previous types of
transmission: Due to the extension with UASP in relation with a connection of an UASP-capable host controller,
a higher read performance rate of up to 70% and higher write performance rate of up to 40% is possible compared
to conventional USB 3.0. UASP uses a more efficient protocol as the standard USB BOT (Bulk-Only Transport). Thus
the latency can be reduced and in total the transmission rate can be increased significantly, provided that the
device is connected to a UASP-interface.
This extremely fast USB 3.0 Turbo-Boost-Technology assures that each data query is transferred on separate
channels. The UASP-protocol is supported by Microsoft Windows 8 and Mac OSX (10.8 or higher) as well as Linux
(as of Kernel-version 2.6.37).
Exchanging the hard drive is uncomplicated: You only need to fit your serial-ATA-hard drive into the case and
establish a connection with the computer by using the supplied USB 3.0-connection cable.
