<COLLECTABLE LOT>
Up for sale I have this collectable Victorian cased Science and Art Department medal awarded to Mary Drury for Physiography in 1899. Please judge for yourself the condition of the lot from the pictures and if it’s in a condition you would be happy with. This is a great looking medal with some really nice detail on it. The medal is engraved on the outside edge as seen in the listing pictures. The medal is uncleaned so has an attractive brown patina that has formed over the years. The medal could be cleaned if the winning bidder wishes to do so but in my opinion this would ruin the great look it has. The case is finished in a dark red leather effect with gold VR insignia and SCIENCE AND ART DEPARTMENT wording on the top. The inside of the case is finished in dark blue velvet where the medal sits and a cream coloured fabric finishes the lid. The case does show some signs of cosmetic wear/discolouration but it opens/closes without issues and the small clasp works fine. Approximate diameter of the medal is 39mm and the lot weighs approx 61.5g. An interesting piece for any collector. Any questions just ask and I may be able to help hopefully!
