Sealed Trumpeter 01325 1/144 Chengdu F-7II PLAAF Jet Fighter This auction is for a single sealed (i.e. plastic seal not removed) kit as shown in the first picture; the second picture is of another kit opened to display its contents. This model represents the primary 1970s variant and I *believe* it is actually a J-7II (J was for domestic use and F was for export; I can find nothing online about the F-7II, only for the F-7IIA which had visible differences). In any event, the J-7II was a product improved J-7 which itself was license-built MiG-21F-13 "Fishbed C". Principle visible differences between the Fishbed C and the J-7II are a variable intake, two (instead of one) 30mm cannon, a brake chute fairing beneath the tail and a rearward-hinged canopy. This is a well-detailed little kit, with a one-piece cockpit insert containing the seat and floor, boxed-in landing gear wells, serveral underwing stores including one large finned drop tank (or air-to-ground munition; I'm not sure which), a pair of air-to-ground rocket pods, and a pair of air-to-air rockets. Decals, in new condition, provide markings for the aircraft on the box-top. The box is in new condition and the kit's lived its entire life in a smoke-free house. Build it!
