BULAWAYO (RHODESIA / ZIMBABWE) MARSHALL HOLE EMERGENCY 2 SHILLINGS & 6 PENCE CURRENCY (in PCGS NEW 62 ERROR HOLDER SAYING 2 SHILLINGS) of the BOER WAR 1900. In CIRCULATION for ONLY 2 MONTHS with HAND STAMPED SIGNATURE.
As in most wars, the Anglo-Boer War chased the hard currency out of the market leaving a shortage of small change in its wake. Hugh Marshall Hole came up with these emergency card monies issued in 1900 with a British South Africa Company stamp affixed (representing the small change value) and hand-stamped signature.
