Figuarts Space Sheriff Shaider with box.  Back in the early 80s, I lived in New York City a few blocks from Forbidden Planet, a seller of science fiction collectibles on Broadway down in the East Village.  I fell in love with the Japanese toys they imported. Most of them were “used” when I purchased them.  I’d never seen their likes before.  The imagination, the craftsmanship, the die cast, the colors, even the packaging was total genius, I thought.    I kept them on display in a glass cabinet out of the sun.   I only touched them wearing white darkroom cotton gloves. I still love them, and the only reason they are here on auction is because I fear they will become damaged as I get older or destroyed when I’m gone
