For sale modified Marantz CD48 with a rare TDA 1549 DAC chip. Whole analog output stage originally based on op-amp has been replaced with White's cathode follower. It uses two ECC88 Tesla tubes - these can be easily replaced/upgraded with other tubes of the same type (ecc88, e88cc, ecc88wa, 6922). Additionally, all capacitors around DAC chip has been upgraded to a quality brand new units and a separate stabilizer has been fitted for the the DAC chip power suply. The IEC power inlet has been fitted. I was lucky to find this good condition example to do the upgrade. After the modification, it has been tested for no more than 10 hours. Sounds amazing, better to my ears than than many famous (non-modiified) 24 bit DAC chips. It comes with original remote controller.
