This is for a stunning antique Edwardian 9ct rose gold mount / rim and real butterscotch amber cigar/ cigarette holder with solid sterling silver holder case. The set is superb as both pieces are by the same silversmith, William Oliver.

Both are great examples of their kind. The Edwardian sterling silver cigar holder case is absolutely delightful. The workmanship is superb. Beautifully hand engraved with leaf and scroll detail. Perfect gilt interior which is in excellent condition. Also benefits from having a pristine vacant shield cartouche which could be personally inscribed if so desired. There has never been a personal inscription. Attached to the bottom of the case is a large jump ring which is ideal for use on an albert chain or chatelaine.  

The lid closes with a perfect firm snap and remains firmly closed even when suspended upside down on chatelaine or albert chain. The hinge is also in perfect order. No splits or weakness to hinge.

The 9ct gold rim and butterscotch amber Edwardian cigar/ cigarette holder is in superb condition. The butterscotch amber has a delightful rich colour and is a fine piece. The 9ct rose gold tip is fully hallmarked.

* Dated c1904-1905

* Maker's mark "W.O" for William Oliver of Tenby Street Birmingham.

* Measures 75.01mm length. 

*Rim measures 16.75mm external diameter. Inner diameter 12.76mm.

This is a fine example of Edwardian history which is presented in superb condition. A wonderful find, particularly as both pieces are by the same maker.
