Bernard Laiwakete Orthoceras Fossil Bear Zuni Fetish
Zuni Native American carver Bernard Laiwakete has carved here a beautiful fetish of a bear. Several complete orthoceras fossils are incorporated into this carving, the largest running from the shoulder of the bear all along one side and wrapping around his hindquarters to finish on the other side. A second, smaller fossil runs from his nose to the middle of his back. On the opposite side of this fetish is a third, less distinct fossil, over which Bernard has inlaid a straight turquoise heartline. Inlaid turquoise eyes complete this gorgeous fetish. What a great addition to any collection!
