Antique Chinese porcelain Tek Sing bowls 19thC

Excellent study pieces! A close pair of similar porcelain bowls from the Tek Sing Ship Wreck of 1822,measure 15 cm wide x 7 cm high approx.Stylised decoration with Chinese landscape,Stylised impressionistic design ,Swatow ware typical export goods made for South east Asia,low fired porcelain,design blurred in kiln,usual firing faults and imperfections.Excellent condition with no repair,no hairlines and only minor chips,slight staining/residues from wreck,glaze crazed,batch/lot numbers 9351 and 8814.They have authentic Tek Sing stickers and auction lot numbers from the Nagel sale.

The ship (Chinese "Junk") named "Tek Sing",means true star,sank early in 1822 during a storm while bound for Batavia-Indonesia from China,with 1800 lives lost it is the largest maritime disaster ever.This huge ship was discovered by treasure hunter and salvage expert Mike Hatcher in 1999 and cargo auctioned off by Nagel in Germany in 2000.
