This Superb Cake Plate was made at one of Booth's Potteries in Tunstall Staffordshire.

The Pattern is numbered "8650" in their Catalogue and was made Exclusively for Maple & Co of Tottenham Court Road in London.

The Design has a Creamy White Background with a Gilded Rim and Embossed Scroll Detail to the Extended "Handles" on either Side.

There's a Narrow Red Band of Petite Scroll Decoration at the Edge and a Similar Band at the Verge.

Around the Outer Band there are Small Floral Studies with Roses, Honeysuckle and other Flowers and their Leaves.

There's a Further and Larger Study at the Centre,

The Plate measures 10 7/8" across the Handles and 9 3/4" in Diameter elsewhere.

On the base of the Plates there's "BOOTHS" over a Crown over "SILICON CHINA" in an Arc over "ENGLAND" in a Straight Line.

I believe that this mark was introduced in 1906 and replaced in 1912.

To the Left there's a Handwritten "8650".

Beneath the Mark there's a Retail Mark with a Crown over "MAPLE & CO LTD     LONDON".

The Plate is in Very Good Condition.   There are No Chips or Cracks and Only Light Surface Marks from Occasional Use.

There's Fine Crazing across the Plate.
