Do the Forties in style with this beautiful authentic Harris Tweed blazer from Ralman of Melbourne. The stylings, black Harris Tweed label, and rayon linings all clearly date this jacket to the middle of the 20th Century.

Authentic 1940s Harris Tweed jackets are always highly sought-after: similar jackets in comparable condition routinely sell for £150+ on eBay - so this is a great opportunity to buy an outstanding item at a very reasonable price. If the jacket fails to sell at auction it will be relisted as a Buy-It-Now at a significantly higher price.

The jacket is tailored from best quality Harris Tweed in a beautiful light blue-green lovat colour (the cloth's actual character is best captured in the close-up photos). The jacket is naturally breathable, and very comfortable to wear.

Features of the jacket include: classic hand tailored construction and fit; best quality leather buttons; three outside pockets; a wallet / document pocket on the inside; rayon linings. The jacket is tailored in a true 1940s style, and has no rear vents.

Remarkably, for a 70+ year old item the jacket is still in very good  overall condition: the exterior is flawless and the jacket looks immaculate on; but there are areas of discolouration and light wear to the lining - these will be invisible during normal use (photos 9, 10 and 11).

Most importantly the jacket is completely free of moth damage, scent or odour. Don't be fooled by the light creasing apparent in the pictures - this will naturally fall out with use.

In terms of sizing the jacket is unlabelled, but fits as a 38 Regular, and should be suitable for someone around 5' 10" tall with a 38" chest. The pit-to-pit measurement may appear generous, but bear in mind that unvented jackets fit differently, and are best worn on the large side.

Returns due to problems with sizing are accepted for this item, although to save yourself the expense and general messing around please consider the following measurements very carefully:

armpit to armpit 20 1/2"; armpit to cuff 16 1/2"; shoulder seam to cuff 25"; shoulder seam to shoulder seam measured direct 17 1/2"; shoulder seam to shoulder seam measured with the curve of the shoulder 18"; across the waist 20 1/2"; length, base of collar to hem 30".
