For sale rare, modified Philips CD player with a TDA 1541A DAC chip.

Lovely midi CD player from the golden era of Philips TDA DACs

To squeeze even more from the glorious TDA 1541 DAC chip, it has been converted

to the NOS (non-oversampling) mode.

Please google: ''TDA 1541 NOS mode'' if you are not familiar with that type of modification.

Whole analog output stage originally based on op-amp has been disabled and

replaced with a valve (tube) based output stage.

From a DAC chip (after passive I/U conversion), the signal feeds two EF86 tubes -

these can be easily replaced/upgraded with the other tubes of the same type

(identical to EF86 = 6CF8 = 6Ж32П = 6267 = 6BK8 = Z729 = 6F22 = CV2901 )

Additionally, all (decoupling) capacitors around the DAC chip
has been upgraded to a quality brand new units, most important ones to
the OS-CONS (Jamicon, Audyn Cap, Nichicon MUSE)
Additionally, the DAC's power supply has been improved/upgraded
(
fast power diodes) as the TDA 1541 is very sensitive in that area.

After the modification, it has been auditioned for no more than 10 hours
and has proven that even being a 'grandfather' among much never
(and much more expensive) CD players can be an equal contender.
(... and that's before being properly 'burn in' !)
