This handsome bullicante bird was made by Barbini for VAMSA in the late 1930s. The bird is made of clear glass with an internal diamond-quilt pattern of gold and plump bubbles. The pattern of the gold shows best in the second photograph. The bird is in excellent condition, with no damage. The bill and tail are free of any nicks. There is an indentation on the left edge of the polished base. This is from tooling of the glass, followed by polishing of the base. It is not damage. The "Made in Italy" label that was used by VAMSA is still in place on bottom.
