ROLAND RE-301 Space Echo

This is a classic Roland RE301 Space Echo Analod Tape Delay. The 301 also features Analog Chorus and Real Spring Reverb. This unit is in good physical condition and is passing signal fine. Both the Chorus and Reverb are in good working order. The Delay need some work, The obvious issues are as folows--- 

1. Motor needs new bearings. It will run if you manually turn the fly wheel to start it, but it will probably be fine if the motor bearing are changed out. 

2. The rubber fly wheel and tape felts need to be serviced.   

3. A re-cap would not hurt.

The physical condition is pretty good with some wear and a few tears in the Tolex (see pics), along with some typical scratches and scuffs. There are 2 small holes drilled in the front of the case, below the face plate. They can be seen in the pictures. It does not have the loading directions under the hood. One knob has a small bit of trim broken off the top. I am including one new tape loop that is loaded and will include a small roll of NOS 8 track tape. 

With all the issues on the table, this unit is still a great candidate for restoration. This would be a relatively easy unit to get back up to perfect functioning order with a few bucks and some TLC. I currently have to many projects on the bench to give this unit the care it deserves.
