This is a 1987 Fender Squier Stratocaster, made in Japan. During the 1980's, Fender made many super high quality guitars in Japan. Most Fender Japan guitars were made under the Squier brand name from 1984-1987. The Fender Contemporary models were manufactured from 1984 to 1987 by FujiGen Gakki (Ibanez) and these Stratocasters were designed to be "superstrats". The Squier Contemporary Stratocaster was part of the Fender Japan E series model range (which are considered the best Fender Japan guitars made). This particular guitar is all original except for the pickups, which were upgraded by the previous owner (I don't know what kind of pickups they are, but they have large bar magnets underneath and are higher output than standard single coils). Specs of this guitar:

This guitar is used but is in Very Good Condition: There are some surface scratches from normal play. There is some wear along the left edge of the neck as pictured. There are a couple small indentation on the top contour of the body. The previous owner has notched out a small part of the body (under the pickguard) so you can adjust the truss rod without taking the neck off. The neck is straight, truss rod works in both directions, the action has been set low with a new set of strings and the guitar plays beautifully. Frets are in good condition with minor string wear. A brand new Fender padded gigbag is included with the original tremolo bar. The guitar will be very well packed and fully insured.
