This is one of the first Quad Core Android TV Boxes.
The demand for larger Android TV Boxes including two USB connections are increasing because of the connection of peripherals. Many Android TV Sticks are so small leaving little room for multiple USB connections and or gates. The MK888 has enough connections available to which this is no longer a problem.
Thanks to the AV port and included cable is the CS918 also connect to a TV with no HDMI!
The CS918 has a beautiful dynamic appearance and looks good. Because there is an Ethernet connection, you can enjoy high-speed internet. This is obviously of benefit to stream movies via YouTube for example, XBMC and Netflix. The MK888 is therefore a pretty good alternative to the Minix Neo X7 and is also priced lower.
System on a Chip
More and more companies are making Android TV devices based on the powerful Rockchip RK3188 SoC. This SoC is an integrated ARM Cortex-A9 Quad-Core CPU (processor). This reaches speeds of up to 1.8GHz and is therefore the fastest processor available in the Android TV world.
Other specifications for this SoC, the ARM Mali-400 MP4 graphics card. This Quad Core GPU reaches speeds of 500MHz. This allows the MK888 playback resolutions up to 2160p, also called Super / Ultra HD! 1080 and earlier certainly play smoothly, with no less than 60 frames per second. According to the manufacturer, this SoC better than the NVIDIA Tegra 3 and Samsung Exynos 4412 processors.
