Hogue was founded in 1968 and has grown into one of most respected
companies in the firearms industry.
In 2009, Hogue entered into a collaboration with renowned custom
knifemaker Allen Elishewitz to develop a new product line of high-end
cutlery. From basic concepts to design execution, Hogue's manufacturing
processes include the best ideas, finest materials, and finishing.
At first glance, the EX-01 looks like a piece of jewelry, but do not
let its attractive appearance fool you. Inside this knife beats the
heart of a beast! The oversized pivot, stop pin and button lock are
heat treated stainless steel which provides a robust lock-up.
Integrated spacers are designed to ensure the knife’s long-term
durability. Finally, a manual safety ensures that the lock cannot
disengage, giving fixed blade-like reliability. The EX-01 is an
over-engineered tool whose sole purpose is performance.

Hogue, well known for the gun grips, has ventured into the knife world.
Hogue Knives first offering, the EX01 Tactical Folding Knife from their
Extreme™ Series, is a rock solid entry.
Although the Extreme series features a button lock mechanism, this is a
manual knife. The Extreme series is designed by Allen Elishewitz. The
knives look good, they are comfortable and the function & action is
beyond reproach.
The green G-10 handle features a pattern the creators call
"G-mascus" (G-10 & Damascus).
The front of the handle has piranha texture for a better grip. The drop
tanto style 154-CM
stone-wash finished blade (plain) is razor sharp. The blade
comes out with a refined smoothness and locks securely into place via
the button lock mechanism. There is also a front mounted safety to lock
the blade open even more securely. For easy carry there is also
reversible pocket clip.

This is by far one of my favorites! The weight,
balance and contours fell so perfect in my hands... The light weight
G-mascus scales, stone washed stainless, polished
"factory" edge, and smooth button
lock mechanism make this an awesome looking... ROCK SOLID knife
that will hold up to
whatever you throw at it. This knife might look like a piece of
art,
but Inside this
knife beats the heart of a beast!
