You see a lot of listings for guitar parts on eBay which say, "for Gibson" or "fits Gibson" but they are nothing more than imported imitations. These are the real deal -- Genuine Gibson Parts!
This shipment was apparently lost, or the boxes got damaged, or something happened -- between the metal finisher and the Gibson Guitar Company in Nashville. If you frequently rebuild and restore guitars, this listing has your name on it. After the unspecified shipping mishap, they were sold at a salvage freight liquidation. As is the custom at such sales, the shipping labels were all stripped off and the seller had no clue what they were. Aside from the fact that they are Gibson tailpieces or stop bar bridges, I really don't know much about them either. What I do know is that they are truly beautiful, and the workmanship is absolutely top-of-the-line. There is no indication whether these were going to the production line or to the Gibson Custom shop. The cloth wrappers are somewhat disheveled from being shipped all over creation, but the tailpieces themselves were completely protected and absolutely pristine. Almost makes me want to buy a vintage Les Paul and skip my next appointment at the barber shop!
