Sony HDW-M2000P HDCam Studio VTR Digital Video BETACam Cassette Recorder / Player PULLED FROM STUDIO SALE! Includes rack mounting hardware! World Wide Delivery to your door! This is a Sony HDW-M2000P HDCam Studio VTR that was picked up from a studio auction. From what I can tell, the studio was bought out or moved, so they were selling everything from that old location (mops, desks, racks, mixing boards, etc.). This unit powers up, has no errors or alarms on it, and is in clean condition. It looks like it is ready to go, and from what I have seen from other units for sale on eBay, this unit has low running hours on it. I can not test this any more than I have, and I am selling it as is, as described. Pick this unit up for a fraction of other online sites, including BH Photo, where they are asking $42,000 for this exact unit - USED!! The only issue that can see with it is that the LCD screen on the right side is readable, but a little dim. This may be a contrast adjustment that can be easily made. In the photo it looks fine, but it is a little dim and some small text can be harder to read than I like. Hour count details about this specific unit: - H01 : Operation - 75022 Hours

With easy maintenance in a wide yet affordable price range, each model offers different combinations of BETACAM format playback capabilities. All products operate in multiple modes, including 59.94i, 50i, 29.97PsF, 25PsF, 24PsF and 23.98PsF.
A wide choice of models with high quality and operability for which the HDCAM format is renowned ensures the HDW-M2000P Series offers an economically balanced solution for HD programming.
* Down conversion is not available for tapes played back at 23.98 and 24 frames Sale card information from Sony: Affordable migration to HDTVThe HDW-M2000P Series high-definition VTRs are not only affordable but they also provide a smooth migration path into the world of HDTV. A choice of five models suits budgetary and operational needs. As well as HDCAM recording/playback, the HDW-M2000P Series VTRs are equipped with backward playback capability for current half-inch tape formats*.
* Playback-compatible formats vary by product. High-definition picture qualitySuperb picture quality with high reliability and robustness are inherited from the BETACAM Series. The HDW-M2000P adopts proven HDCAM format and state-of-the-art HDCAM compression technology to record high-definition component digital signals. This excellent compression scheme maintains a high 140 Mbps video bit rate (data rate on tape of 185 Mbps). Precision to improve editingThe HDW-M2000P Series enables both insert or assemble editing with frame accuracy where each channel of video and audio signal is independently editable. You can execute precise editing on HDCAM tapes in machine-to-machine or A/B roll configurations. Audio and image in syncThe editing process is made easier by accessing recognisable colour pictures in shuttle mode at speeds up to +/-50 times normal playback. With the digital jog sound mode you can quickly and precisely establish an editing point while monitoring digital audio signals, which means they remain in absolute sync with the pictures. Smoother audio mixing at edit pointsLike all Sony half-inch professional formats, the HDW-M2000P Series features Digital Audio Crossfade. This enables previously recorded audio signals to be read in advance using pre-read heads and then re-recorded onto the same track after being mixed with the input audio signal.
Convenient metadata handlingSpecial attention is paid to metadata handling so you can increase production efficiency and provide greater convenience in media asset management systems and material distribution systems. Metadata generally consists of user-defined data indicating when, where or by whom the material was created. The HDW-M2000P Series allows you to record UMID metadata on tape when the VTR performs dubbing, editing and copying through up/down conversion. Up to 255 bytes x3 packets of metadata per field can be recorded and transferred to other devices via HD-SDI or SDTI. Faster playback speedsDynamic Tracking™ playback capability provides high-quality pictures over a range of -1 to +2 times normal playback speed during playback of HDCAM tapes, -1 to +3 times for BETACAM/BETACAM SP/MPEG IMX/Digital BETACAM tapes, and -1 to +2 times for BETACAM SX tapes. Built-in up and down convertersIn addition to the HDCAM format you can play back a variety of legacy SDTV VTR formats. Each format is reproduced in its corresponding vertical resolution for output signals in 1080i, 576i and 480i. Built-in up and down converters* take programmes in SDTV for HDTV transmission and down-convert HD formats as ‘super-sampled’ SD images. This super-sampled HD origination produces standard-definition 480 and 675-line NTSC/PAL signals that are superior to those originated in standard definition.
* Excludes the HDW-2000. Interlace and progressive switchable operation – with 24P modeRecording and playback of the HDCAM format is available in 1080/59.94i, 1080/50i, 1080/29.97PsF and 1080/25PsF frame rates*. The HDW-M2000P Series also enables legacy playback of both 480/59.94i and 576/50i on the same deck*, making it extremely effective for international programming. To meet the growing demand for 24P programming all HDW-M2000P recorders offer 23.98PsF/24PsF recording, as well as conversion to a 25PsF signal (with the appropriate time-code conversion for 24P creation)* *. For further enhanced flexibility, the HDW-M2000P Series range can output the converted 720/59.94P signal from the 59.94i or 29.97PsF playback* *.
* The frame rate of the source tape cannot be converted at the output between 1080/59.94i and 1080/50i or between 480/59.94i and 576/50i. Playback of a 576-line analogue BETACAM tape on the HDW-M2000/S2000/M2100 (NTSC model), and playback of a 480-line analogue BETACAM tape on the HDW-M2000P/S2000P/M2100P (PAL model) is for monitoring purpose only.
* * Requires audio pitch correction. Down conversion and/or ‘pull-down’ of tapes played back at 23.98PsF or 24PsF frame rates are not provided. Long recording time on a single cassetteThe HDCAM format’s high density recording capability and compression technology allows the HDW-M2000P Series to cover a wide range of programming, including news, sports and production. A long maximum recording time of 124 minutes is available at 1080/59.94i, with 149 minutes at 1080/50i and 155 minutes at 1080/24PsF for each L cassette. Small cassettes can also be used to provide a maximum of 40 minutes at 1080/59.94i, 48 minutes at 1080/50i and 50 minutes at 1080/24PsF. Digital audio and Dolby®* recordingThe HDCAM format allows you to record four channels (two AES/EBU stereo pairs) of non-compressed digital audio (20 bit at 48kHz). Further options available with the HDW-M2000P Series are the ability to record non-audio data streams in the audio recording area by packaging data within an AES/EBU wrapper as well as recording Dolby-E and Dolby AC-3 data (non-audio) streams on the audio tracks.
* Dolby and the double-D symbol are trademarks of Dolby Laboratories Inc. Compact design and low-power consumptionThe lightweight and compact 4RU-size* design means the HDW-M2000P Series models weigh just 23kg (50lb 11oz), which is 12kg (26lb 7oz) lighter than the HDW-500 HD Video Recorder. Compactness and low-power consumption are ideal for both studios and outside broadcast vans.
* 4RU size = 427 x 174 x 540 mm (16 7/8 x 6 7/8 x 21 1/2 inches). Versatile interfacesThe HDW-M2000P Series features a wide range of interfaces, including HD SDI I/O*, SDI output (D1 component), SDTI I/O* (optional – requires HKDW-102 SDTI interface board), analogue component output, analogue composite output (NTSC/PAL), digital audio I/O (AES/EBU), analogue audio I/O* and audio monitor output (2-ch analogue).
* The HDW-M2100/M2100P player provides outputs only. User-friendly control panelThe compact yet comprehensive control panel on the HDW-M2000P Series help you quickly get the most out of the product. The design and functionality inherited from the BETACAM SP VTRs is supplemented with a multi-function display on the control panel that provides comprehensive information and quick access. Each of the four audio channels has its own dedicated control knobs and meter displays. An optional HKDW-101 control panel enables you to control VTRs simultaneously from the same panel. Easy maintenanceEasily accessible plug-in boards for most of the circuitry of the HDW-M2000P Series facilitate quick and easy maintenance. The drum assembly design utilises an upper drum mechanism and auto adjus™ent function for simple, low-cost maintenance that drastically reduces the time required to undertake periodic drum replacement. This is the same design used in MPEG IMX VTRs and BETACAM SX recorders.
