 Up for auction is a quality c1942 AMERICAN WALTHAM 16s, 9 Jewel, Adjusted 3 positions, Base Metal cased pocket watch. The pocket watch is in fine working order and runs and winds nicely. The pendant set hand adjustments also work fine. These watches are all fresh from an estate collection so to be safe from the auction we always assume they may need a good cleaning or servicing to be keeping absolutely perfect time. But as said it is in good running condition. 

As you can see, the dial and casing show some wear that is consistent with its age. The case lids screw off and on tightly with no crossed threading. The dial cover is loose and should be reaffixed to the lid. The clean silver toned movement is in excellent condition.

The pocket watch measures 50mm wide by 12mm thick. The dial measures 42mm in diameter. The serial #31474324 dates the watch at 1942. The movement contains 9 Jewels, adjusted for three positions and temperature. The movement is stamped "Waltham U.S.A., 16s." The casing is stamped Star Watch Case Co., Base Metal. The casing serial numbers match.
