We produce handle and shaft of a walking cane/walking stick from the first rate fine hardwood that grows in Carpathian Mountains: ash, oak, walnut etc. The unique wood texture is depicted on every handle – a pattern created by nature itself. А handle has very handy and anatomic shape, which is comfortable even for everyday use. To provide additional stability, it is strengthened with a metallic spindle that allows walking cane to endure weights more than 250lb. Walnut is strong, hard and durable, without being excessively heavy. It has excellent woodworking qualities, and takes finishes well. The wood is light to dark chocolate brown in color with a straight grain in the trunk. Wavy grain is present toward the roots, and walnut stumps are often dug out and used as a source of highly figured veneer. Large burls are common. Walnut solids and veneers show a wide range of figures, including strips, burls, mottles, crotches, curls and butts. European walnut is lighter in color and slightly finer in texture than American black walnut, but otherwise comparable. For cane finish we use only top-quality Danish oil based on natural components and waxes, which protect wood, accentuate its natural texture and give saturated color. The oils we apply are safe and do not trigger an allergic reaction in contrast to synthetic varnishes that are used by some manufacturers. In addition every item can be decorated with a bronze plate, on which, on custom basis, we can make an engraving with owner’s name, his motto, favorite quotation etc. The print is made by using the method of chemical etching that imparts a more vintage look to a cane. The inscription may be performed in Roman, Cyrillic, Arabic, Hebrew characters. Price of the monogram is paid additionally and costs 10$. We also offer production of custom–made walking canes. You can choose the shape of the handle, the length of the stick, color, material, pick up an element for decoration, made of bronze or nickel silver, and etc. Usually making a custom-designed walking cane takes 2-3 weeks.
