ANTIQUE 1796 COLONIAL NEW ENGLAND NORTON BRISTOL COUNTY MASSACHUSETTS LAND DEED

ITEM DETAILS

Today we are pleased to offer an original antique 1796 manuscript deed of land in Norton, Massachusetts in Bristol County between Ebenezer Burt (descendant of Richard Burt from Dorchester, England) to Hosiah (Josiah) Briggs (descendant of William Briggs from Dorchester, England) for the price of $600.  This document was written by Ebenezer Burt, and is signed by Seth Smith, Justice of the Peace.  It includes the marks of Ebenezer Burt and his wife Mary Burt.  Also signed on the back by James Williams, Register.

This document is over 219 years old!

Please know that this historic document looks much better than the photographs!  It was folded when discovered in a local estate, so some folding and creasing is visible, as well as some minor separation at the seams, though this does not detract from the overall display quality.

Beautiful antique paper marked with watermark.

A great piece of colonial Massachusetts history that would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
