Antique 1920 Albanian Hand Embroidered With Gold Threads Women White 100%Wool Long Vest ''Xhubet".

You are looking at a very rare Albanian 100% Wool Long Vest "Jelek", from the middle area of Albania used by middle Albanian women in the traditional fests. Completely hand made with excellent Albanian ornaments. The front and back are heavily full adorned by red and gold threads. This is one of a kind Art piece for home decor and wall hanging or just for personal collection of antiques.

The piece listed for sale is truly a rare one characteristic of the small town of Librazhd, middle area of Albania, and it is the inheritance of the rich culture that is known throughout the region. Traditional dresses are accompanying the diversity of regional cultural celebrations and activities.

During 1920- 1930 upper outfit, were constituted of woolen fabrics made in the loom, cut and sewn by the women at home. The dress is made out of woolen and it is decorated by hand in golden threads. It was especially given to brides as a wedding gift which she could use for work, daily activities or special events. The difference between these three kinds of uses was in the amount of golden threads. Also it was inherited through generations for its value and tradition.
