From simple beginnings in 1963, Catherine Buckley came to be recognised as one of the world’s most distinctive, influential and unconventional designers in the Great British tradition. Perhaps her greatest triumph and innovation was taking 19th century lace and antique samplers, and transforming them into unique patchwork couture creations, very much the talk of the 60s 70s fashion world at the time. Catherine opened her first shop in Westbourne Grove in the heart of Notting Hill, London where she forged a reputation for unique designs of uncompromising quality among celebrities, fashion experts and the buying public alike. Buckley’s pieces are always extraordinary and she became an extremely sought after designer from the 60s 70s British Boutique era.
