Nutiva - Organic Red Palm Oil has a mild carrot-like flavor, with a rich, buttery texture. Some red palm oils have a strong or harsh flavor, however, our proprietary cold-filtration process removes any strong flavor while retaining the nutrients. Organic Red Palm Oil is ideal for soups, sauces and sautéing. It also turns regular popcorn into delicious (and healthy!) movie theater-style popcorn.
Palm oil grown in Southeast Asia is associated with destruction of rainforest and orangutan habitat. It is important to note that in addition to the work we do with Natural Habitats, orangutans do not live in Ecuador and our red palm does not contribute to deforestation or habitat destruction.

Organic and Sustainable
While Red Palm Oil grown in SE Asia often contributes to rainforest and orangutan habitat destruction, Nutiva’s Organic Red Palm Oil does not. In fact, orangutans don’t live in Ecuador, which is located in South America. In addition, most palm oil is non-organic, which results in farmers spraying Roundup or other harsh herbicides at the base of each tree twice a year. Organic growing practices avoid introducing these toxins into the environment. The region of Ecuador where Nutiva’s Red Palm Oil is grown has numerous small family farms, averaging 10 hectares (about 25 acres), interspersed throughout the regional forests. These subsistence farms were planted many years ago and are now being worked by second and third generation farming families. As an organic farm, they have a very healthy environment for animal and plant life that blends with the surrounding forest.
Quality
Their extraction processes guarantee the highest quality, most flavorful product. To extract the oil fresh-harvested organic palm fruit bunches are steamed to release the oil from the fruit then expeller-pressed to further separate the oil. All palm oil is extracted this way; there is no 100 percent raw red palm oil. Until recently, red palm oil had few users due to its powerful odor and flavor. Nutiva uses a proprietary cold-filtering process that maintains the beneficial nutritional qualities while removing most of the strong scent and flavor. The end result is a delicious buttery oil, rich in antioxidants and with a mild carroty flavor.
Nutrition
For over 5,000 years this plant-based fat has been a staple of indigenous cultures. Legend has it that this sacred food was revered for its healthful properties and entombed with the pharaohs of ancient Egypt for their enjoyment in the afterlife. This long-standing reputation comes from Red Palm Oil’s nutrient dense properties. Red palm oil contains the highest amounts of vitamins A and E of any plant-based oil. Its dark red color comes from carotenes, such as alpha-carotene and beta-carotene (vitamin A) nutrients that provide color to fruits and vegetables such as carrots and tomatoes. Red palm also contains at least ten other carotenes, including the antioxidants, tocopherols and tocotrienols (vitamin E).
Uses
Red palm oil adds a delicious, buttery flavor and warm yellow color to a variety of dishes. Use in rice, quinoa, muffins, smoothies, spreads, sauces, soups, stews, fish dishes, guacamole, popcorn and medium-heat sautéing. It can also be blended with other oils, such as olive or coconut for baking. For an easy way to add antioxidant-rich fats to your dinner, brush your favorite vegetables with Nutiva Red Palm Oil before or after broiling. Sprinkle with seasoning to taste.

What is the difference between Palm Oil and Coconut Oil? Are they both from the Coconut Tree?
Both Palm and Coconut come from the palm tree family, but they are different species. While both are considered tropical oils, the fat and nutritional profile of each differs; palm fruit oil (not to be confused with palm kernel oil), is approximately 45% saturated fat with a high percentage of monounsaturated fat and coconut oil is approximately 90% saturated fat.
Why is Red Palm Oil good for me?

Palm Oil, line Nutiva's Organic Red Palm Oil, comes from the red, fleshy fruit of the palm tree and contains high levels of Vitamins A and E. Palm Oil comes from the kernel of the palm tree and does not contain these healthy antioxidants.
What can I use Red Palm Oil for?
Red Palm oil makes an excellent cooking oil for baking, sauteing, dips and medium heat frying. In particular it's delicious tossed with popcorn or in stews and sauces. All tropical oils, including red palm, are excellent cooking oils. The fatty acids in palm oils are very stable and are excellent for medium heat cooking temperatures. Tropical oils have also been traditionally used for body care, from massage to soaps and cosmetics.

Shipping and handling charges are a flat rate of $5.95* for all orders using Standard Shipping and FREE for orders over $49* within the continental 48 U.S. only, excluding Hawaii, Alaska, Virgin Islands & Puerto Rico.

All packages are shipped with a verified FedEx, USPS or DHL tracking number for online tracking and delivery confirmation. Expedited orders placed after 1 PM (EST) may not process until the next business day. We strive to process all expedited orders placed before 1PM EST the same day provided adequate stock is available and the order successfully passes all necessary verification processes. Orders received over the weekend may not process for shipment until Monday. Shipping carriers may deliver your package on a Saturday and do not deliver on national holidays.
Orders to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam and the US Virgin Islands are shipped based on USPS real-time costs depending on the weight of the package, delivery method and final destination.
PLEASE NOTE:Packages less than 1 lb may ship via FexEx, USPS or DHL when our Standard Shipping method is chosen. In some instances, your order may ship in multiple shipments (due to product and warehouse availability) if standard shipping is selected. We may use either carrier for each shipment. If you have a PO Box, please provide your physical address as well as the PO Box, or choose Priority Mail shipping to ensure your package is deliverable.
Orders shipped to Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico are subject to additional charges. International orders are also subject to additional charges. If ordering online, your charges will appear upon checkout. You will be notified of any fees that do not conform with our free and flat rate shipping policies.

LuckyVitamin.com currently ships domestically to the United States including Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam and the US Virgin Islands. We also ship direct from our warehouse to Canada.
Canadian orders are shipped via DHL Global Mail which can take approximately 1-3 weeks for delivery. Additional delivery options may be available for an increased cost. Orders to Canada can be shipped through DHL Global Mail to Canada. DHL Global Mail is delivered via Canadian Post (Max. 66 lbs.). As always customers outside the United States may be subject to additional fees and charges. We ask that you please be aware of local custom and importation laws. Any additional charges for customs clearance must be paid by you.
Tax Policy
Pennsylvania residents add 6% sales tax on all personal care products, aromatherapy, pet products, appliances and books.
Shipping Methods
All orders are shipped via FedEx, USPS or DHL whenever possible. If FedEx shipping is not available in your area, your package will be shipped automatically via standard USPS mail.
Back Ordered Items
On rare occasions we may run out of stock of an item. This may cause a slight delay of shipment for your order. If an item you ordered is going to be backordered for an extended period of time, we will notify you via e-mail of this delay and then automatically ship the products to you as soon as they are available.
Here at LuckyVitamin.com we have a great relationship with our suppliers, so we are usually able to get your products very quickly. If your backordered item(s) will arrive in a timely manner, we will delay your shipping so we can send your order in its entirety. If we can not have your item(s) soon after receipt of your order, we will ship your partial order and automatically ship the backordered item(s) as soon as they become available at no extra cost to you. In the event several items are backordered, you may receive several partial shipments.
Order Status & Tracking
All orders shipped will be provided with an online tracking number for status and location tracking. You can always e-mail or call us if you'd like to verify your order's status.
Damaged & Incorrect Items
If your item arrives damage or is incorrect, please notify us immediately via e-mail or telephone so we can resolve any problems to your satisfaction.
Cold-Pack Service
We offer a free cold pack service to insure the quality and potency of certain temperature sensitive products. When you see the image below on an item's detail page, it indicates that item will ship with cold pack service and we recommend you choose an expedited shipping method.
You may also opt to include cold-pack service with your order by purchasing a Cold-Pack. During the hotter months in order to insure the safety and integrity of certain heat sensitive products and prevent melting, deterioration or rancidity, it may require we pack product with freeze-paks. We recommend purchasing the Cold-Pack service with your order. We may also choose not to ship the product if the weekend will delay final arrival. Based on the size and value of the order an additional $3.50 packaging and handling fee may be required. If any delay or additional cost will incur we will contact you for approval.

Refunds & Exchanges
Unopened items can be returned or exchanged for any reason. Simply send the items back to us within 30 days of receipt and we will refund your money or exchange your product. When we receive your package we will credit the card you paid us with for the full purchase price of your product minus any shipping fees.
We apologize, but because of product shelf life products returned after 30 days will have a 20% restocking fee. We are not able to accept returns on products after 45 days. Additionally, if you are returning/exchanging a quantity of 12 or more of the same item there will be a 15% restocking fee due to inventory control and product shelf life.
In the event of returning a free shipping item there is a mandatory deduction of $5.95 from your total refund.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Place items you are returning in sturdy packaging. Make sure all items are packed tightly and securely. We are not responsible for breakage during shipment of returned items.
2. Indicate whether you would like an exchange or a refund.
3. Make a copy of the purchase order that was enclosed with your original order, highlight the items you are returning, and place the copy in the box with the products.
4. Use the mailing address below to address your return shipment.
5. Take the package to your preferred shipping location to have it delivered to us. (If you are returning a product due to a defect or an error made by us, please include a copy of your shipping receipt with your package so we can refund your shipping costs.)
