What are Clarity Enhanced Diamonds?

There are two different clarity enhancement processes.  Both are designed to make natural diamonds visually more attractive by making inclusions inside diamonds less visible to the eye. Both are described below.

1).  Laser drilling process whereby small black carbon inclusions inside diamonds are laser removed permanently.   There is no special care or cleaning instructions required.

2).  Fracture filling also referred to as clarity enhanced, and or feather/fissure filling.  In this process small cracks inside diamonds are filled using a silica resin making these tiny cracks less visible to the naked eye. The process can be altered or reversed in fire, boiling acid or concentrated ammonia solutions.  Special care instructions require keeping fracture filled diamonds out of fire, boiling acid and concentrated ammonia solutions. Safe cleaning methods include steam cleaning, ammonia free jewelry cleaner, and soapy water.


Diamond Certification

All of our diamonds at BigDiamondsUSA are graded by a G.I.A. Graduate Gemologist, and a Diamond Grading Certificate is provided by United Gem Laboratory. Clarity grades are based on appearance after enhancement. United Gem Laboratory is an Independent Gem Laboratory located in Chicago, servicing the local jewelry trade.

RETURN POLICY: A 14 day inspection/evaluation period is granted. Return for Refund request must be requested within the 14 day inspection period which begins on the day you receive the item including weekends and holidays. At the end of the 14th day all sales are considered final, and the return for refund privilege ends. After the 14 day return policy has expired...then buyer accepts item as described, and any claims thereafter of item not as described or claims of shoddy craftsmanship regardless of other professional and or second opinions are not accepted under any circumstance. The jewelry item you have purchased is new, and in new unworn condition when shipped to you. Any item returned for refund which show any sign of wear or damage are not eligible for refund under any circumstance. Special order or custom made rings to customer specifications are not returnable for refund under any circumstance. ALL Return/Refund request notifications must be requested via email within the 14 day inspection period, and the item must be returned in new unworn undamaged condition, and in our possession within 7 days of return request. Telephone or voice mail return/refund request are not accepted under any circumstance. Buyer pays return shipping and insurance cost, and assumes and bears all responsibility for loss of item during transit.
We ship via FedEx, Next Day Delivery. We can also make arrangements to have your package shipped to a FedEx station or FedEx/Kinko’s for more convenient pickup times. All shipments are insured for loss, and require buyer’s signature upon delivery or pickup. Shipping rate includes FedEx and insurance.

International orders are shipped via FedEx. Delivery time is based on FedEx international schedules. We insure all shipments for loss. International buyers are responsible for their countries duties and taxes.
