Speedwall Multilayer Woodcore: Völkl freeskiing models feature a multi-layer wood core that features two different densities of wood. In the binding attachment area, a dense, ash core is used, while in the rest of the ski, the core is poplar. The more dense wood creates more secure screw retention, preventing binding pull-out, and the soft, supple poplar section allows for resilience and snap. The flex pattern is tailored to each ski model, depending on the desired performance.
UVO: UVO (Ultimate Vibration Object) is the first application of free-floating, 360° vibration absorbing technology to minimize disruptive ski vibration. Vibration inherently arises when skis interact with bumpy terrain. The ski’s tip, in particular, is set in motion in all directions, all at once. UVO technology delivers proven reduction of these vibrations, delivering a quieter ride. The key differentiation between UVO and other damping systems is the fact that in addition to longitudinal vibrations, it also addresses torsional and lateral vibrations. UVO is featured on all models in the Racetiger and Code series skis.
Powered By Titianium: Titanal, an alloy of titanium and aluminum, is an integral part of Völkl ski design. Its strength, light weight, and resiliency make it ideal for use in ski construction. Our engineers found that titanal absorbs harmful vibration frequencies, while allowing “good” vibrations through. Pioneered by Völkl, titanal provides superior damping, stability, edge grip, and smoothness in select high performance models throughout the collection.
Speedwall 2.0: New for this season, Völkl engineers have discovered a way to improve performance by integrating the sidewalls and wood core with into a unique SPEEDWALL MULTILAYER WOODCORE. The sidewall is laminated to stiff layers of wood on the outside of the core, with a softer, lighter weight wood in the center.
Tip Rocker: The combination of an early rise tip and a camber profile in the rest of the ski provides easy, smooth turns regardless of conditions.
Power Construction: Power Construction utilizes traditional vertical sidewalls. This versatile construction provides tremendous grip, stability and sensitivity.
rMotion2 16.0 Bindings: A complete system whose significantly lighter race plate ensures optimal flex and grip. The 20% wider construction allows for significantly improved transfer of power and control along with a new toe piece for greater stability and a new, more convenient heel mechanism.
