This is
a signed limited first edition of "Drawings by Frederic Remington",
New York. R.H. Russell. 1897. (18x12). It is
Number 4 of only 250
copies. The bookplate is signed in pencil by Remington
and in ink by R.H. Russell. In addition to the signed edition
you will also receive a copy of the unsigned
first edition, as pictured. The signed edition shows some
rather considerable wear,
however, the signed bookplate is not affected. The
binding is loose and the boards are detached. The spine covering also shows tears,
and the front board has a stain, as
pictured. Many of the pages show some significant edge wear with tears,
creases, and with some loss and staining present.
About five of the prints show some scribbling in pencil, and the last three show
loss to the bottom left, as pictured. However, the contents of
both editions are identical, and the pages of the unsigned edition
are excellent. The spine covering of the unsigned edition is missing.
Each edition is complete with each containing 61 full-page halftones of Remington's finest sketches, finished
drawings and paintings. This rare find, with an exceptionally low number,
would go well in a collection. We have
described this item to the best of our ability. Please examine the
detailed images provided and email with any questions that you might have.
Thank
you!
