Terrific example of a Korea built Artstar from Ibanez. Model AS80 (has a MAS80-VS sticker on reverse, near neck bolt). Puts any other 335 clone to shame. Jazz, rock, blues, you name it.
A great looking guitar, looks and plays like the Japan model. There are good and bad builds; the quality is not consistent year after year, but this particular Artstar is absolutely one of the better ones you’ll find. Of course we offer it with a 30-day guarantee for your peace of mind. Gorgeous checking lines running along the fretboard, and a nice mellow patina. Unique MOP inlay on the headstock. This is a special guitar. Best of all, it’s been fully set-up as of May 2016 at world famous Eric’s Guitar Shop in Los Angeles. It got the works treatment and fresh strings; the only issue that you may need to eventually consider is leveling the frets. The frets are clean are not too bad at the moment, some notch marks to a few frets but nothing alarming or in need of immediate attention.
Physical condition is excellent. A few finish cracks around the output jack, a fairly shallow, pea-sized ding on the neck. Some light buckle rash on the back, mostly contained in a baseball-sized area near the center. Various light scuffs and scratches here and there. Some ‘clouding’ type scuffs on the neck pickup. Missing the plastic trim on the front switch. No major issues, no cracks, chips or damages besides the minor cosmetic blemishes, just average playing wear that has accumulated over the years. Comes from a smoke/pet free indoor studio environment. This one was a desert dweller and always kept in the very accommodating Southern California air.
