Toshiba Storage Device Division introduces a new 60GB 1.8-inch Hard Disk Drive, the MK6014GAL. The MK6014GAL uses ATA-4 Interface and delivers a data transfer rate of 66MB/s. It increases the standard 512 bytes of data per sector to 1Kbytes which is needed for control structures, information necessary to manage the drive, locate data and perform other functions. In addition, to minimise noise emission and prevent compromising acoustic quality, the drive spins at 4200 rpm.

This new drive has been especially designed for ultra-portable consumer electronics devices. It features high-density, low power consumption, low acoustic noise and is only 54x71x5 mm.
