The Intel Core i5-520UM is a powerful Ultra Low Voltage dual-core processor for small and light laptops which enables long battery times at reasonable computing power. The basic Core i5 model is more than sufficient, however; clocked at 1.06 GHz and capable of a turbo boost maximum of 1.86 GHz, the base processor offers a lot of horsepower for a 12.1" convertible tablet and gets great mileage out of the battery (shows 6h but probably will go up once the battery fully charged and recharged for 3 times). Perfect for those long trips!
Hyperthreading enables the Dual Core CPU to handle 4 threads at once for a better usage of the pipeline. The i5 offers 3MB Level 3 cache.
