Product Description: The Esbit by Industrial Revolution Alcohol Stove and Trekking Cookset provides various options for cooking out on the trail. It has a 985 ml pot with a volume indicator in liter/ounce increments on the side, and a 470 ml pot/ pan which also serves as a lid.
I would recommend not carrying this stove with fuel in it. There is a hefty o-ring seal on the lid of the burner, but trying to carry the stove 1/3 full of fuel it still sloshed around and leaked into the cookset. Had to use part of my water ration to clean the denatured alcohol smell from the cookset. I replaced the o-ring and it still leaked. I tried to contact the manufacturer "Esbit", but got no response after several attempts. The best solution was to purchase a metal fuel bottle such as MSR, and after the stove cools, pour the excess alcohol back into the fuel bottle. With this little change the stove works flawlessly.
Exactly what I was looking for for motorcycle camping and heating my water for coffee in the morning. Best price that I found for this dual fuel type stove
Well made stove, should work well for camping!
We haven't used this, but it is very small. You would have to cook per serving.
I had this banging around vans, buses and while backpacking, no scratches or dents. I wish the top pan fit as a cover while using it as a 2nd pan instead of flipping it over to use as a cover, big con. A little on the heavy side but I think it is worth it for a backpacking trip for 2-3 people.
